Tale of Two Cities: Social Distancing on streets of SEA & PDX

Event Date: 5/28/2020

Location: Zoom

We do want to acknowledge that we are living in unprecedented times that call for leaders to unite and help build sustainable paths for creating healthier resilient cities. These are times that are not normal and for all those who participated in this event from panelists to guests, we want to thank you. We want to thank you for taking the time and energy out of your day to provide space for this event.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, YPT Seattle and YPT Portland hosted our first joint event using Zoom. This Zoom webinar featured panelists from both cities and even included Happy Hour to meet and greet panelists.

Panelists included Sam Zimbabwe - Director of Seattle's Department of Transportation (SDOT), Emily Reardon 0 Deputy Chief of Staff at SDOT, Dongho Chang - City Traffic Engineer at SDOT and Michael Serritella - Transportation Planner at Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT).

Happy Hour with Panelists!

After the main event, we hosted a virtual happy hour with the panelists, taking full advantage of the Zoom's breakout group feature. Participants were able to further discuss the topics which were touched on during the webinar, and to of course ask more questions to the panelists during that time. It was great seeing everyone's faces (albeit via Zoom) and talk about transportation!

We would like to once again thank all of our panelists from SDOT and PBOT, YPT Seattle & YPT Portland members, our sponsors, and everyone who joined us to make this webinar and happy hour event a successful event!

Please stay tuned as we will have another YPT Seattle-Portland joint event in mid-late June.

Stay safe and stay healthy!
