About
The Seattle chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT Seattle) was created in June 2013 to enhance professional development among young transportation practitioners and future leaders in Seattle. Our mission is to work to cultivate a community of young professionals passionate about transportation. Our organization embraces interest in transportation topics across all modes and strives to provide a forum for discussions that encompass traditional transportation topics and new transportation innovations that may shape the industry’s future. YPT Seattle is the local chapter of the YPT International non-profit organization that facilitates the growth of new chapters, and guides chapters in promoting their core values; professional development, fellowship, and networking.
YPT does not limit who is considered "young." Anyone can participate in events and sign up for a membership. YPT Seattle welcomes transportation enthusiasts and professionals and protects the dignity of all races, ethnic origins, gender identities, sexual orientations, faiths, social status, and individuals with physical or non-physical disabilities. YPT Seattle is a safe inclusive space for professional and personal growth, for exchanging and learning unique perspectives, for belonging to a diverse community, and for having fun!
We acknowledge that we gather on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People, and we honor with gratitude the land itself and the life of all the Coast Salish tribes.
