How to Apply
Apply to become a YPT Seattle Board member! The deadline to apply October 1st, 11:59pm PST.
To run for or be appointed to any YPT Board of Director position (international, regional, or local chapter) and vote in the elections you must:
Already be or become a paid YPT Member by October 1, 2021, 11:59 PM EDT
If you think you are already a Member but are unsure, you can check your membership status.
Election & Board Member Timelines
Term limits for all (International & Local) YPT Board positions is one year. The term runs from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
September 20, 2021 - Submit Interest Form
October 1st, 2021 - New Deadline to submit your application.
October 18, 2021 – Election ballots will be sent out by YPT International to eligible voting Members for all Chapter and International elections by 9:00 AM EDT.
October 29, 2021 – Online elections close at 11:59 PM EDT. International and Chapter Board members and nominees will be notified of election results shortly thereafter.
November 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021 - Board Transition Period
January 1, 2022 – New term begins for International and Chapter Boards.
December 31, 2022 - 2022 Term Concludes
YPT Seattle Leadership Board descriptions
Chair: is responsible for day-to-day implementation of the policy and guidelines of the Board of Directors. The Chair shall preside over Chapter Board meetings, and act as chief official representative of YPT Seattle.
Vice Chair: shall help to coordinate activities involving multiple Officers and assist the Chair in their responsibilities. In the absence of the Chair, the Deputy Chair shall act in the official capacity of the Chair and perform all duties of that office.
Finance & Administration Chair: shall keep full and accurate records of all business and proceedings at Chapter Board meetings. They shall prepare meeting minutes, keep accurate organization records, collect dues, safekeep funds, report receipts, and manage the election process.
Programs/Events Chair: shall be responsible for the coordination and organization of dates, locations, and any necessary materials for networking or social events. They shall also be responsible for coordinating speakers, dates, and locations for professional development programs and workshops.
Outreach/Communications Chair: shall be responsible for the management of social media, a monthly email, and the YPT Seattle email account.
Membership/Sponsorship Chair: shall be responsible for the accurate management of memberships through yptransportation.org, and maintain and grow sponsorships for the Seattle chapter.
